The United States announced the imposition of sanctions against a Russian company, as well as against a North Korean company operating in Russia. This decision was made in connection with the illegal use of DPRK manpower in Russian facilities.

This is reported by the United States Department of the Treasury.

Restrictions were introduced against the Russian construction company Mokran LLC, as well as against the North Korean corporation Korea Cholsan General Trading Corporation.

The decision was made on the basis of a series of presidential decrees, as well as legislation passed by the United States Congress, which requires the punishment of North Korean people involved in the exploitation. They generate substantial income for the Pyongyang regime.

“North Korea has a long history of exploiting its citizens, sending them to distant lands to work under grueling conditions to financially support Pyongyang and its weapons programs,” said US Secretary of the Treasury Stephen Mnuchin.

We will recall, previously, the United States imposed sanctions against the Central Research Institute of Chemistry and Mechanics of Russia.

In addition, the US State Department announced the decision to extend sanctions against the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline in the near future. Russia is urged to stop using its energy resources to pressure other countries.
