A representative of the occupation authorities advised Ukraine to prepare for arrests on the peninsula.

Crimea responded to a virtual arrest by Ukraine in the downfall of Russian planes for flights to the annexed peninsula. In response, they threaten to arrest “numerous objects owned by Ukrainian officials and large companies”, both on the peninsula itself and in Russia. This was announced on Thursday, November 19, by the “Permanent Representative of the Republic of Crimea under the presidency of Russia,” reported Georgy Muradov, Russian RIA Novosti.

A representative of the occupation authorities said such actions hold Russia “accountable.”

“The statement by the Ukrainian authorities on the virtual arrest of Russian aircraft is not only an attack on the basic structures of Russian businesses, but also a thoughtless provocation by Russia for the arrest of numerous objects owned by Ukrainian officials and large businesses in Russia, including Crimea, of which there are many in the republic. “

As a reminder, since March 2014 Ukraine has closed the airspace over annexed Crimea. At the same time, Russian airlines began to carry out regular air transport of passengers to the peninsula, violating international flight rules and Ukrainian legislation.

In the fall of 2020, the Crimean prosecutor’s office reported that 109 aircraft of these Russian airlines were arrested.

It was previously reported that Ukraine has seized 44 more planes from Russian airlines flying to annexed Crimea. The aircraft violated the order of entry / exit to / from the occupied peninsula and international flight rules.
