The former deputy of the Odessa City Council of the Party of Regions, Oleg Markov, who fled to Russia, was caught smuggling artifacts from the early Iron Age: Scythian gold.

According to Moskovsky Komsomolets, Markov brought Scythian gold by train to Russia, where he tried to sell it.

“The deal was planned at the bank’s branch on the territory of the ‘Moscow city’. There, the former deputy was also detained by employees of the FSB department for Moscow and the Moscow region,” the message says.

Among the antiquities confiscated from Markov are an amphora, a necklace, a medallion with images of ancient heroes and gold plates in the shape of a deer and a lion. According to some reports, we are talking about one-off exposures worth hundreds of thousands of euros.

The Khoroshevsky Court in Moscow received materials on the choice of a containment measure for Markov. The search for his accomplices continues.

Recall that Oleg Markov is the younger brother of the fugitive party leader Rodina Igor Markov.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Oleg Markov had previously released a song about cocaine.
