Ukrainian doctors will be the first to receive a free coronavirus vaccine, Ukraine’s Health Minister Maxim Stepanov said.

Ukraine’s Minister of Health Maxim Stepanov, on his Facebook page, told how free vaccines against COVID-19 will be distributed in the country.

According to him, on November 19 an online conference was held with representatives of COVAX (an initiative for global access to vaccines against COVID-19), during which an additional action plan for the supply of a future vaccine was determined. to Ukraine.

The minister stressed that the priority of the first stage of vaccination is health workers.

Ukraine will receive the vaccine in several installments. The first will be about 1.2 million doses. In total, COVAX plans to provide Ukraine with around 8 million doses of coronavirus vaccine.

As Stepanov pointed out, this will allow to vaccinate up to 20% of Ukrainian citizens for free.

“Our next steps in cooperation with COVAX are the signing of a Ukraine technical need and the terms of cooperation,” said the minister.
