The exchange of prisoners in Donbass will not take place until the roadmap for the implementation of the Minsk agreements is agreed in the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG). Furthermore, such a roadmap must be approved by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
This was stated by the representative of the occupation authorities in certain areas of the Donetsk region, Daria Morozova, according to the separatist media.
According to her, today the negotiations on the exchange of prisoners are blocked.
“To resume the dialogue and achieve constructiveness, the parties to the conflict must agree on a document that will contain a mechanism to unblock the negotiations and reaffirm adherence to the Minsk agreements,” Morozova said.
Recall, it was previously reported that Ukraine insists on the exchange of prisoners “all for all” until December 15. Later, the term was named before Catholic Christmas.
In September, the head of the Ukrainian delegation of the Trilateral Contact Group, Leonid Kravchuk, declared that the exchange of prisoners had been blocked due to the Rada’s decision on local elections. The elections were held on October 25, 2020, so today, in fact, the demands of the Russian side to amend the document are irrelevant.
