Ministry of Health: 20% of Ukrainians will receive free COVID vaccines

Viktor Lyashko immediately tried to disperse the “zrada” regarding the amount of vaccine.

A vaccine candidate from the American manufacturer Moderna is included in the global COVAX mechanism, explained Viktor Lyashko.

The Global Fund for Access to Vaccines Against COVID-19 (COVAX) has confirmed the information about the allocation of a coronavirus vaccine to Ukraine free of charge for 20% of the population. This was announced by the Chief Medical Officer, Deputy Chief of the Ministry of Health, Viktor Lyashko, on his Facebook page on Wednesday, November 18.

“Today it became known that Ukraine, as one of the countries that is included in the work of the global COVAX mechanism, has the opportunity to receive vaccines against coronavirus disease in doses equal to 20% of the population free of charge. This means that about 4 million Ukrainian citizens will be able to get vaccinated in the first half of 2021 due to financial support from international partners and the governments of other countries, “Lyashko wrote.

He noted that a candidate vaccine from the American manufacturer Moderna was included in the global COVAX mechanism, the preliminary results of a study of which showed a 95% effectiveness in preventing the development of the coronavirus disease COVID-19.

“We set ourselves the task of ensuring the immunization of as many of the population as possible with proven, high-quality and safe vaccines in 2021, both through global initiatives and at the expense of Ukraine’s state budget,” Lyashko emphasized.

Later, he added: “An update for those who are already accelerating the zrada. 20% of the population, 8 million doses and (!!!) 4 million of the population, since now we are talking about an administration of two vaccines ! “

Earlier, Viktor Lyashko claimed that Ukraine would receive a COVID vaccine at a special price. For your purchases in the 2021 budget is provided one billion UAH. Then it was around at least 8 million doses of the vaccine, if the drug needs to be administered once, and 16 million doses, if there is a double dose.
