Swiss national team manager Pierluigi Tami spoke about the interruption of the final match of the group stage of the League of Nations Switzerland – Ukraine due to the coronavirus in the camp blue yellow.

We are disappointed, it’s a shame. But we understand that we are talking about the health of the players. The whole team was ready for the game. We would prefer to decide everything on the ground and on a sporting basis. Now everything will be decided on a different level.

We have always respected UEFA protocol. They personified it, they did their best. They have been tested three times in the last few days, all negative. We wanted to play and we did our best for it.

But I did not feel that the Ukrainian side was seriously looking for a solution to the situation. I might be wrong. We did our job and fully complied with the protocol. It would be difficult for me to understand the decision on the outcome of the draw. I am waiting for a decision in our favor. But I’m not a lawyer, maybe I’m missing something. Hopefully it will take a few days to make a decision, – quoted by the Swiss edition 20min.

We will recall, earlier, that the UAF said that the national team is ready for a fight in the composition that was still in Switzerland (departure to Ukraine is scheduled for Wednesday, November 18). At the same time, the Association stressed that it is not possible to assemble a new team in one day.
