On the website of the Football Association of Ukraine, information appeared that the Ukrainian team is ready to play the Nations League match against Switzerland on November 18.
The match was supposed to take place yesterday, however, due to the coronavirus in the Ukrainian team, the local authorities banned the match.
The UAF emphasizes that Ukraine is ready to play with the squad that is now in Switzerland, and can enter the field today. Coach Andriy Shevchenko has enough healthy players to form a request for a fight.
The UAF is asking UEFA to negotiate with local authorities and obtain permission to host the game.
Further, The Football Association of Ukraine is ready to do everything possible to ensure that on the evening of November 18 the coach has a completely new squad. However, he believes that this will not be possible. It will not be possible to invite Ukrainian U21 players, because yesterday they only played qualifying for Euro 2021, and UEFA bans players from playing in more than one match in 48 hours.
It’s problematic to call in new players in such numbers from outside the youth team, given that they are in different cities and still need to be evaluated.
The UAF believes Ukraine will not physically have time to declare a completely new team on the night of November 18, but is awaiting a decision from UEFA.
Earlier, a spokesman for the national team noted that a swift decision by UEFA is not possible.
