Ukraine’s Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal presented five digital solutions to combat the coronavirus pandemic.

During a speech in the Verkhovna Rada on November 17, Ukraine’s Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal presented five digital solutions developed by the Ministry of Digital Transformation to combat the coronavirus pandemic. The head of government wrote about this on Facebook.

One of the solutions proposed by the Ministry of Digital Science is the introduction of QR codes to visit public places. The codes will be generated and published centrally by the establishments.

“Without scanning such a code, it will be impossible to visit any catering establishment or shopping center. If a person becomes ill, everyone who was in this establishment will receive the corresponding notifications. Now the UK has started to fully implement such a system.” Shmygal said. …

Digital solutions to address the pandemic include:

  • Digitization and centralization of the collection of information on facts and suspicions about cases of infectious diseases. It enables faster and more efficient planning of hospital expansion, staffing, and drug procurement.
  • Improvement of the “Diy vdom” app with the use of automatic fines for violation of the self-isolation regime.
  • Launch of electronic prescription of medicines and expansion of the Affordable Antibiotic Medicines program.
  • Introduction of an electronic reference for PCR tests, which will allow to track queues in real time.

An outbreak of coronavirus infection began in late 2019 in China. On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization declared the spread of the coronavirus a pandemic.

As of November 17, 557,657 cases of coronavirus infection were recorded in Ukraine, of which 11968 – for the last day… Since the beginning of the epidemic, 9,856 COVID-19 patients have died, 250,983 people have recovered.
