The court can overturn four more sentences for failure to testify

The court overturned the first verdict regarding the intentional failure to file electronic returns.

The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court (VAKS) overturned its first verdict, which was delivered against a retired judge of the Dnipropetrovsk Region Court of Appeal, Nadezhda Posunsya, accused of deliberately failing to submit electronic statements. It was reported by the Anticorruption Center on Tuesday, November 17.

The verdict had to be overturned by a decision of the Constitutional Court, which declared it illegal to prosecute for lying in the statements.

It is clarified that this was the first conviction of the VAKS in history, there are already four more sentences for not declaring, which sooner or later will be canceled.

Remember that in October 2019, the VAKS found Nadezhda Posunsya guilty of official forgery; she deliberately did not file electronic returns. According to the decision, the judge was fined 51,000 hryvnia and was also banned from holding public office for a year. This is the type of punishment requested by the prosecutors of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.
