Ukrainians want to raise tariffs again
The increase in the cost of gas distribution is explained by the rise in the prices of fuel itself, which in November rose another 35%.
Since the new year, Ukraine intends to increase the cost of gas supply, said Olga Babiy, a member of the National Commission that regulates the energy and utilities sector, on air on the 1 + 1 television channel.
According to her, rates may be increased due to rising gas prices.
Babiy explained that in the tariff structure for the distribution of 50% of the cost of gas as such. And the current rate includes the price of gas before its increase.
“That is, if the price for distributors, as well as for domestic consumers, has increased, then the distribution rate will also increase. Because the current distribution rate sets the price of gas at the level of spring prices,” he explained the regulator.
However, he does not expect further growth in gas prices.
As a reminder, Naftogaz raised the price of gas for residential customers by 34.7% in November compared to October, to 6.33 UAH / m3 with VAT and excluding distribution costs.
In addition, Naftogaz sharply increased gas prices for heating and electricity. Naftogaz recalled that until May 1, 2021, it supplies natural gas to heat producers who are subject to the JI and have entered into the corresponding natural gas supply contracts.
