The Ministry of Defense reported on plans to reform its companies
The department has developed a strategy to reform state defense companies, as a result of which there will be half the number of companies in the purview of the Ministry of Defense.
Until 2022, 42 state companies of the Ministry of Defense will be reorganized, five companies will be transferred for privatization and another 44 will be liquidated. These plans are contained in the Strategy for the Reform of State Property Objects of the Ministry of Defense, reports the Monday, November 16, the press service of the Ministry of Defense.
“The Ministry of Defense took into account the comments and results of the analysis of the performance of subordinate state companies, carried out by public organizations, and also studied the foreign experience of the management of military companies.
Forecasting the future of the security sector was also taken into account to ensure the operation and development of state-owned companies that meet both modern needs and future challenges, ”said the department.
The Defense Ministry stressed that the companies that are planning to reorganize are important to the Defense Department, “after all, they are capable of working economically, efficiently and effectively for the needs of the Armed Forces.”
It is observed that the sector employs thousands of highly qualified narrow profile specialists.
“The task of the direction of the Ministry of Defense is to load state companies on time orders in the interest of the Armed Forces and ensure their adequate financing to keep up with the times in terms of technical equipment, professional development of workers and software solutions “the department stressed.
At the same time, it is envisaged that state-owned companies, whose activities are not directly related to the upcoming needs of the defense sector, will be transferred for privatization to the State Property Fund.
In general, it is planned that by 2022, 42 state companies will remain in the management of the Ministry of Defense, of which 40 are in the functional management of the Main Directorate of Property and Resources, and two, in the Directorate of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
