The head of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Maxim Stepanov, posted a video on how he contacted the doctor and received recommendations for the treatment of coronavirus infection.
On November 15, Ukraine’s health minister, infected with the coronavirus, Maxim Stepanov, telephoned a doctor who gave him advice on treatment. The minister posted a video of the communication on Facebook.
“The contact center of the Ministry of Health gave me the phone number of a doctor who will give recommendations on treatment because I do not have a family doctor. We are dialing this number,” Stepanov said.
The minister had to wait more than a minute for a reply. After that, he, without giving his name, explained that he had received a positive test for COVID-19 and you want to know what to do to treat the infection.
The doctor, whom Stepanov called, said the GP was providing full treatment and asked to name the symptoms of the disease. The minister said he had no cough or a sore throat, his symptoms included a headache, a temperature of 37.1 degrees.
For headaches, the head of the Ministry of Health was recommended to take ibuprofen. Vitamin C, vitamin D3 and zinc can be added if desired, the doctor said.
“In principle, all the advice is in accordance with our protocol. It corresponds, more or less, with what we have noted with a mild course of the disease. I was not advised to take antibiotics. With which we have been struggling for several months” Stepanov emphasized.
Stepanov announced his coronavirus infection on November 14. He promised to work remotely. On November 15, he announced that he intends to find out from his own example what is happening to COVID-19 patients.
An outbreak of coronavirus infection began in late 2019 in China. March 11, 2020 World Health Organization declared the spread of the coronavirus a pandemic.
As of November 15, 535,857 cases of coronavirus infection were registered in the country, of which 10 681 – for the last day… 9,603 COVID-19 patients died, 241,444 people recovered.
