Odessa election results: who won in the second round
According to the exit poll, which was conducted by the Kiev International Sociology Institute, at 8:00 p.m. Gennady Trukhanov wins the second round of the elections for the mayor of Odessa… 56.7% voted for him. Nikolai Skorik received the support of 42.8% of the voters.

The election of the head of the Odessa City Council took place in the framework of the upcoming local elections in Ukraine. On October 25, the first round of voting for the future mayor of the city took place. None of the 23 registered candidates received more than 50% of the support of the voters in the elections.
Therefore, the Odessa TEC announced a second round on Sunday, November 15. Two candidates with the highest number of votes entered: Gennady Trukhanov and Nikolai Skorik.
Second round candidates
2020 mayoral elections Gennady Trukhanov he won first place with 38.35% of the votes. However, he failed to repeat the success of the previous electoral campaign: 5 years ago, Trukhanov was elected mayor in the first round with 52.2% of the support of the citizens. For the first time, he presided over the Odessa city hall in 2014 based on the results of the early elections.
Previously, Gennady Trukhanov was a people’s deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the VII convocation of the Party of Regions. In 2014, he left the Party of Regions and a year later he ran for mayor of his own “Trust Deeds” party. In the 2020 elections, Trukhanov is also a nominee of this political force.
Nikolay Skorik He went to the second round with the result of 19.47% of the votes. He represents the party “Platform of Opposition -” For Life “, from which he has worked in the parliament of the IX convocation since 2019. Previously, he was a member of the” Opposition Bloc “and the” Party of Regions “.
From November 2013 to March 2014, Skorik was in charge of the Odessa Regional State Administration. He participated in the investigation of the dispersal of a demonstration of Euromaidan activists in Odessa, as a witness. From 2010 to 2013, he headed the Ministry of Finance of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, before that, for 4 years, Nikolai Skorik was the chairman of the Odessa Regional Council.
Evaluations of Trukhanov and Skorik
Gennady Trukhanov has become the favorite of the pre-election race in Odessa since the beginning of the election campaign.
On the eve of the vote, the incumbent mayor was supported by the absolute majority of Odessa citizens: 50.1%. This is demonstrated by data from a sociological survey carried out by the Rating Group from October 9 to 14. The top three leaders in the rating were: Nikolay Skorik with 10.6% and Oleg Filimonov with 7.9%.
In forecasting the results of the second round, Gennady Trukhanov also surpassed Nikolai Skorik by a significant margin: 59% against 18% of the votes of the respondents.
Results of the elections of the first round
The official results of the vote in Odessa were announced 10 days after the elections. Gennady Trukhanov was the leader of the first round by a wide margin of his opponents: the incumbent mayor received 77,518 votes.
Second place was taken by the people’s deputy of the “Opposition Platform -” For Life “Mykola Skorik – 39,351 Odessa residents voted for him.
23,257 people voted for activist and businessman Pyotr Obukhov, who was nominated by European Solidarity.
The Servant of the People party nominated actor Oleg Filimonov as a mayoral candidate, but he failed to enter the top three, garnering only 20,388 votes.

There was also reported an attempt to massively falsify the results of the repeated vote for the mayoral candidates of Odessa on November 15 after fake ballots were found in the office of one of the local politicians.
