Following the example of Slovakia, Austria intends to carry out massive coronavirus tests in order to «make Christmas as safe as possible. “
The country’s Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz said this on the ORF air.
At the end of the confinement, Kurz intends to conduct massive tests. The Chancellor noted that Slovakia is the model for planned mass testing, because many asymptomatic infected people have been identified and isolated in this way.
“Before Christmas, I want to use the bulk testing method,” Kurz said.
The corresponding steps for the logistics process will be prepared in conjunction with the federal and military states. Towards the end of the week, the government wants to inform the public about these planned mass tests.
Kurtz pointed out that the first thing you need to do is check the school’s teachers. He stressed that schools must return to normal work from December 7. Retail trade should also be opened.
Remember that Austria introduced a total blockade on November 14.
Slovakia conducted a general population test for coronavirus earlier in the month. Without a negative coronavirus test, citizens were banned from leaving their homes. The tests were done free of charge.
2,581,113 people out of 5.45 million have been tested for COVID. The proportion of infected was 1%.
