The second round of local elections started today in several Ukrainian communities. In particular, new mayors are elected in Sumy, Odessa and Kherson.

Polling stations opened at 8 am. The second round of elections takes place in seven communities: Lutsk, Kamenets-Podolsk, Sumy, Kramatorsk, Kherson, Odessa and Ukraine.
More than 1 million 650 thousand voters can participate in the elections, who will vote in 927 polling stations.
The second electoral round did not begin to be canceled even despite the “weekend quarantine”, which began to operate on Saturday, November 14.
The next local elections in Ukraine took place on October 25.
Second round candidates
The second round of the mayoral elections is taking place in seven cities. Choose from the following candidates:
Kherson – the former mayor of the city in three terms, Vladimir Saldo and the current people’s deputy of the group “For the future” Igor Kolykhaev;
Lutsk – Advisor to the incumbent mayor Igor Polishchuk and CEO of Volynstandartmetrologiya Bogdan Shiba;
Sumy – the current mayor Alexander Lysenko (“Batkivshchyna”) and the chairman of the Sumy district council, Vadim Akperov (EU).
Ukrainian woman from the Kiev region – Oksana Kirilyuk, Director of Dnipro LLC (Servant of the People) and Alexander Turenko, Director of Azbor LLC USA;
Kamyanets-Podilsky – Mikhail Positko (OV “Svoboda”) and director of the charitable foundation “We are Kamyanets” Vladimir Melnichenko;
Kramatorsk – the acting mayor Andrey Pankov and one of the directors of Energomashspetsstal Alexander Goncharenko.
Weekend quarantine in Ukraine
- On November 11, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to introduce a weekend quarantine starting on November 14.
- The government abandoned the adaptive quarantine and established a nationwide quarantine with restrictions that were in effect in the previous version of quarantine in territories with an orange epidemiological level for all territories.
