With the support of the Minister of the Interior Ministry Arsen Avakov, who was ready to send a special plane of the Ministry of Emergency Situations to Germany, Igor Surkis arranged with one of the western airlines, which provided its board for the transfer of Ukrainian footballers and a doctor to Boryspil, in accordance with the requirements of the international medical protocol.
Viktor Tsygankov, Sergei Sidorchuk and national team manager Vadim Komardin were already in flight during the Germany-Ukraine League of Nations game and will be home soon.
Previously, the UAF did not make a decision when four players from the national team (including Shakhtar’s Viktor Kovalenko), infected with the coronavirus, will be sent home (the UAF leadership even considered the option of sending sick footballers by bus ).
English West Ham also ensured that Andrei Yarmolenko returned safely to his club by letter.
