UEFA has taken a series of disciplinary decisions in the most recent matches held under the auspices of this organization.
Among others, UEFA’s disciplinary bodies also focused on the Shakhtar – Inter match, which took place on 27 October in Kiev at the NSC Olimpiyskiy and ended in a 0-0 draw.
Based on the results of the consideration, UEFA decided to disqualify Shakhtar head coach Luis Castro from a UEFA competition due to the delay in kick-off.
It should be noted that with this decision, UEFA launched a conditional one-match disqualification for Castro, which was imposed by the corresponding decision on August 7 following a similar disciplinary foul by the Portuguese coach in his team’s match against Wolfsburg in the Europa League 2019/20. … Then UEFA sanctioned Castro with a suspension game suspended with a probationary period of one year.
Given that the situation was repeated, the previous sanction, in accordance with paragraph 3 of art. 26 of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations came into force. For this reason, Luis Castro will not be able to attend the Shakhtar coaches bridge in the team’s next match against Borussia Mönchengladbach in the fourth round of the group stage of the Champions League, which is scheduled for 25 November.
Also, Castro was sanctioned with 5,000 euros, and Shakhtar was in charge of denouncing the disciplinary decision to the knowledge of the Portuguese coach.
