The “Epicenter” shopping center in Kiev at 11 Bratislavskaya has extended its working hours from Monday to Friday until 24.00.

The chain of shopping centers “Epicenter” in Kiev was closed for “weekend quarantine”. The Bratislavskaya 11 store only works for online ordering. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine.

According to a message at the entrance, the shopping center has extended its opening hours from Monday to Friday until midnight.

After the announcement of the “weekend quarantine” on November 11, the retail chain Epicenter published a post on Facebook declaring Friday 72 hours. On November 12, Ukraine’s Health Minister Maxim Stepanov said he was outraged by this publication.

The chain later announced that it would operate on weekends, but intends to sell only food, medical supplies and hygiene products, but changed its mind on the same day and announced that it would only work with online orders on weekends.

Deputy Interior Minister Anton Gerashchenko said police will monitor compliance with the “weekend quarantine” rules at Epicenter.

On November 11, Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers decided to introduce a “weekend quarantine” in the country. Stepanov said that we are talking about three weekends, starting next weekend. The media wrote that said quarantine will last until December 31 of this year.

“Day off quarantine” states that from 00:00 on Saturday to 00:00 on Monday in Ukraine, only grocery stores, pharmacies, transportation, gas stations and veterinary pharmacies will operate. Restaurants, cafes or other catering establishments will only operate takeout. “The weekend quarantine” will “stop the wave of coronavirus disease,” Stepanov said.
