Ukraine’s Ministry of Health hopes that the “weekend quarantine” will help maintain the incidence of coronavirus infection at a level of 11 to 12 thousand infected per day. Health Minister Maxim Stepanov said this on Friday, November 13, on the air of the “Savik Shuster Freedom of Speech” program.

The partial blockade will help break the chain of transmission of the disease and reduce the burden on the health system, the Health Minister said.

“We want to save up to 11-12 thousand per day. We have offered a complete closure for a long time as the Ministry of Health, but we start from the economic possibilities of our country, ”said Stepanov.

We recall, from midnight on Saturday, November 14 in Ukraine began to operate the so-called “weekend quarantine”, the decision on the introduction of which was made in the government earlier in the week.

The weekend quarantine will be valid for three weeks, from 00:00 hours on Saturday to 00:00 hours on Monday.

The idea of ​​introducing a weekend quarantine was supported by President Vladimir Zelensky.
