Ukraine’s national team has 4 players infected with coronavirus: Andriy Yarmolenko, Serhiy Sidorchuk, Viktor Kovalenko and Viktor Tsygankov, as well as coach Vadim Komardin. They were isolated in their hotel rooms while the rest of the players trained.

The question of the permanence of infected players in Germany will be decided on Saturday 14 November by UEFA’s special medical service together with the German government services. According to the local prescriptions of the medical protocol, a person who tests positive for coronavirus in Germany is obliged to remain in self-isolation at the place of stay for the next 15 days. However, the Ukrainian delegation as an exception will ask the German side to allow Yarmolenko, Tsygankov, Kovalenko and Sidorchuk to leave the territory of Germany.

The Ukrainian team faced a similar situation before a friendly match in France in October. Then the French authorities allowed the sick Pankiv and Lunin to leave the country. The Real Madrid goalkeeper was transferred to Madrid by car and the Alexandria goalkeeper returned to Ukraine with the national team by plane.

The Nations League match between the national teams of Germany and Ukraine will take place in Leipzig on November 14.
