Dmitry Peskov believes that Ukrainians and Russians are like-minded peoples, but not fraternal
The results of local elections in Ukraine showed that “antibodies” are no longer so strong, said the Kremlin president.
Russian President Dmitry Peskov’s press secretary is confident that “Russophobic antibodies” in Ukraine will disappear quickly. He said this in an interview, TASS reports on Friday, Nov. 13.
“We still believe that we were and continue to be two like-minded peoples, but not fraternal,” a Kremlin spokesman said in an interview with RT TV, referring to relations between Russia and Ukraine.
At the same time, Peskov noted that “over the years, the Ukrainian leadership has worked hard to provoke some kind of hostile feelings in its people.”
“We do not believe that this is a long-term anti-Russian immunity. No, it cannot be long-term. These antibodies will pass quickly,” Peskov is convinced. “Artificially implanted Russophobic antibodies will pass quickly.”
“By the way, the recent elections and the results of these local elections in Ukraine simply showed that the antibodies are no longer so strong,” he summarized.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Russia and Ukraine “did not fight, but disagreed.” He also believes that “Crimea has always been ours.”
