The Russian Foreign Ministry commented on the statement of the Azerbaijani ambassador in Moscow, Polad Bulbul oglu, about the downed Mi-24 helicopter of the Russian Aerospace Forces. In particular, the department drew attention to his words that “in war as in war, anything can happen.”

As noted in the Russian Foreign Ministry, such a statement is “a big mistake.” The ministry noted that if Russia professed such a principle, then “the response would be overwhelming.”

So far, Moscow has “accepted Baku’s words on an admission of guilt and an apology.” Now, the Foreign Ministry awaits the quickest implementation of the assurances of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, on “carrying out an investigation and punishing those responsible”.

Russia also starts from the fact that Baku will no longer “allow itself ambiguous statements regarding the tragic incident.”

Earlier, the Azerbaijani ambassador to Russia, Polad Bulbul Oglu, said that there are no final conclusions about the reasons for the incident with the downed Russian Mi-24 helicopter. “In war as in war, anything can happen,” stressed the diplomat. According to him, it is known that the helicopter flew low and did not hit the radar. Bulbul Oglu added that in the military situation, “young people see that a military helicopter is flying, and that decision was made.”
