OSCE representatives in the Trilateral Contact Group called on Russia to open entry and exit checkpoints (EECP) in Donbas. The OSCE expects passage through the contact line to resume by the end of the week.
This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG.
It should be noted that at today’s TCG meeting, the parties made some progress in discussing the technical conditions for unblocking passage through the checkpoint by Russia.
“The Ukrainian side has made its proposals on the procedure for solving technical problems,” the delegation added.
In addition, the OSCE supported Ukraine’s proposal to create “green corridors” at the checkpoint for sedentary citizens, so that they can freely cross the contact line and receive pensions, social benefits, administrative and financial services.
“The greatest successes have been achieved today in the humanitarian direction, there are positive signs that it will soon be possible to secure the work of the checkpoint in both directions,” added the press service.
As a reminder, on November 10, Ukraine resumed operation of all checkpoints in Donbass, including the new “Happiness” and “Zolote” checkpoints. However, the invaders refused to renew passage through the contact line.
In addition, today the pro-Russian militants announced that there was no agreement on the work of the checkpoint in Shchastya and Zolote.
