On the morning of November 11, in the city of Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), an explosion took place at a commemoration ceremony for the end of the First World War with the participation of diplomats from the European Union and other countries. As a result of the explosion, several people were injured, including a foreigner.

Reported by Reuters.

Previously, in a ceremony that took place in a non-Muslim cemetery, an explosive device exploded. There is a Greek citizen among the victims.

“There are four minor injuries, including a Greek,” said an unidentified Greek official.

It should be noted that the ceremony was organized by the French Embassy. The diplomatic mission has already notified French citizens of the incident and urged more caution. However, according to France, two people were injured.

Al Arabiya also reported two casualties in the bombing of Jeddah. According to the agency, an official from the Greek embassy and a Saudi security guard were injured.

Please note that the incident took place in a context of worsening relations between the French authorities and the Islamic world. Recently in France there have been several sectarian terrorist attacks involving Islamists.

We will recall that French President Emmanuel Macron called for the reform of the Schengen area due to the threat of terrorism. Macron is convinced of the need to strengthen security at the borders of EU countries.
