The Ministry of Health of the Altai Territory of the Russian Federation, commenting on the infection of doctors with coronavirus after vaccination, said that a person is considered vaccinated only after receiving the second component of the vaccine.

In the Altai territory of Russia, three of the 42 doctors who were among the first to be vaccinated against coronavirus infection with the Russian Sputnik V vaccine contracted the coronavirus. This was announced on November 10 by the press service of the Regional Health Ministry.

“Three doctors out of the 42 who were the first to be vaccinated against coronavirus infection have contracted the coronavirus,” the report says.

The press service noted that, according to the information of the developers, a person is considered vaccinated and, accordingly, protected from coronavirus infection only three weeks after the second Sputnik V vaccination, since during all this time there is a process immunity formation.

“The immunity of sick doctors who were vaccinated probably did not have time to form when they encountered the COVID-19 pathogen. Only this could cause the infection of doctors,” noted the Altai Ministry of Health.

The registration of “the world’s first vaccine” against coronavirus infection – “Sputnik V” (“Gam-COVID-Vac”) – announced Russian President Vladimir Putin on August 11. According to him, the vaccine, developed at the Nikolai Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology, is effective, forms stable immunity and has passed all tests.

Putin said that one of his daughters had already been vaccinated against coronavirus infection with a Russian-made vaccine. On August 27, the Kremlin chief said that his daughter had received a second vaccination and was doing well.

Several Russian scientists noted that the accelerated approach to vaccine registration contradicts scientific and ethical standards for drug development.

The Russian vaccine is considered incomplete, according to the United States.

In September, the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation stated that side effects were manifested in “about 14%” of the volunteers vaccinated with “Sputnik V” during the investigation. October 26 Director of the Gamaleya Center Alexander Gunzburg reported side effects in 15% of trial participants. On October 28, it revealed that “some” of the volunteers who participated in the trials contracted COVID-19.

By data World Health Organization As of November 3, there are 47 COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers worldwide that are candidates for clinical evaluation of the produced vaccine. 155 companies are conducting preclinical trials.

An outbreak of coronavirus infection began in late 2019 in China. On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization declared the spread of the coronavirus a pandemic.
