Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke about the situation in Donbass during today’s conversation with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Zelensky spoke about the provocations of the pro-Russian militants.

This was reported by the press service of the Presidency.

The Ukrainian head of state informed Merkel about the decrease in losses of the Joint Forces units compared to last year, which was achieved as a result of the ceasefire in the Donbass.

“However, provocations by illegal armed groups continue. This makes it extremely difficult to move towards peace,” Zelensky said.

The president also complained to the German chancellor about the interruption by the occupants of the opening of new entry-exit checkpoints “Happiness” and “Zolote” in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.

Additionally, Zelenskiy told Merkel about Ukraine’s joint action plan to help revitalize the Trilateral Contact Group. This plan has already been transmitted to the partners in the Normandy format.

We will remember that today the pro-Russian militants violated the truce near Vodyanoye in the Donbass. The Ukrainian army did not open fire in response to the militants’ provocations.

In addition, the TCG announced progress in unblocking the passage of citizens through the demarcation line in Donbass.
