Alexey Arestovich, information policy adviser to the Ukrainian delegation in the trilateral contact group, spoke about this on the air of the “Actually: Donbass” program on the “Dom” television channel.
“Our action plan, we believe, provides Russia, if it really wants to solve the Donbass problem, a ‘golden bridge’ to withdraw. According to our plan, it can come out in such a way that it saves face in foreign policy and for its domestic electorate. , for internal users. So Russia turns out to be a wise power that helped establish peace in Donbas, “Arestovich said.
At the moment, Ukraine is “sending signals” to Russia to listen to the proposals of the Ukrainian delegation and accept them.
“I hope you have the desire and understanding enough to listen to them and take them as a basis, although, of course, amendments, compromises are possible and come out on this basis [с Донбасса]”, – added Arestovich.
The Russian Federation still says that the occupied areas of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions are the territory of Ukraine.
“We are not talking about the independence of Donbass. We are not talking about its accession to the Russian Federation. Even from the Kremlin, they say that it is about the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, but Ukraine. That is, even the Kremlin believes that it is part of Ukraine, and has repeatedly declared it, “he said.
Russia has been involved in many wars around the world and now its resources are depleted. Therefore, the fighting in Donbass became unprofitable for her: she wants to leave this territory.

Russia began its armed aggression in eastern Ukraine in 2014, immediately after the annexation of Crimea. The fighting is between the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the one hand, and the Russian army and the Russian-backed militants who control parts of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, on the other. The Russian Federation does not officially recognize its invasion of Ukraine, despite the facts and evidence presented by Ukraine.
Arestovich is 45 years old, he was born in Georgia. Educated at the Odessa Land Forces Institute (now Odessa Military Academy). From 1999 to 2005, he worked in the Main Intelligence Directorate. He received the rank of major in reserve. He studied psychology and theology, worked as a theater and film actor.
Since 2014, Arestovich has been actively commenting on army-related events in the Ukrainian media, in particular the war in Donbass, and also wrote about it on his Facebook, where he currently has more than 192 thousand subscribers. In 2017, the blogger admitted that, posing as a patriot, he posted false information about events in eastern Ukraine.
On October 28, 2020, he announced that he had become an advisor to the Ukrainian delegation in the trilateral contact group.
