Ukraine is ready to help the inhabitants of the annexed peninsula due to the difficult situation with the coronavirus.

Ukraine is ready to deploy humanitarian camps near the administrative border with the Autonomous Republic of Crimea due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This was stated by the Minister for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, Alexei Reznikov, the department’s press service reported on Tuesday, November 10.

It should be noted that Reznikov made such a statement during an online meeting with the EU Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management, Janez Lenarcic.

“The parties discussed the situation with COVID-19. In particular, Oleksiy Reznikov announced Ukraine’s readiness to deploy humanitarian camps near the administrative border with the Autonomous Republic of Crimea,” the message reads.

It is reported that they also discussed issues of social protection for the population, including the provision of pensions.

Reznikov said pensions for Ukrainian citizens have been preserved and are being collected.

He also added that the government has canceled the mandatory verification within 60 days, and is also taking all necessary measures to ensure that citizens can receive pensions in the most comfortable way possible.

In addition, according to Reznikov, two new checkpoints were opened in the Lugansk region on 10 November. And in one of them, in Shchastya, a multifunctional service center was also opened, where people can receive all administrative and social services, including solving pension problems and withdrawing cash.

Remember that Zelensky is concerned about the critical situation with COVID-19 in Crimea. Seriously ill patients are denied hospitalization due to lack of places in hospitals, there are not enough doctors, they wait for an ambulance until 3:00 p.m. and there are no basic medicines in pharmacies.

It was also reported that the Mejlis will collect humanitarian aid for COVID-19 patients in Crimea.
