The owners of cafes, restaurants and catering establishments oppose the introduction of the “weekend” quarantine.

Ukrainian restaurateurs announced on November 11 protest actions in 23 cities against the imposition of the “weekend” quarantine. This is stated in a statement by the Restaurant Association of Ukraine on Facebook.

The restaurateurs said they were against “selective half measures for selective industries.”

“Although someone decided that a million Ukrainians involved in HoReCa have no rights. Therefore, they can change the rules every day, impose new restrictions … We are a million. This is almost twice the population of Montenegro and a little less than Estonia, “he added. in the statement.

The association points out that restaurants “are not the place of greatest danger”, since the establishments comply with the restrictions, unlike the carriers.

“We know with certainty that under the conditions of the weekend quarantine, there is not a single possibility that the country will overcome the virus, nor that the industry continues to work. This is a road to nowhere,” the message says.

Restaurateurs are also opposed to “any opening hours.”

Note that the government plans to consider the “weekend quarantine” issue tomorrow.

The day before, the chief health doctor Viktor Lyashko said that due to the worsening of the situation with the coronavirus, Ukraine goes to the second stage of response to the pandemic, within which the number of COVID beds will be increased and operations will be prohibited. and planned hospitalizations, with the exception of urgent ones.
