KSU judges this year earned 2.5 million hryvnia
On average, a Constitutional Court judge receives a quarter of a million hryvnia a month. This year 314 million have been allocated to finance the field.
Average earnings of Constitutional Court judges for 10 months of 2020 amounted to 254 thousand hryvnia, writes Radio Liberty with a link to the Constitutional Court’s response.
It is observed that the salaries of the judges differ, and the amount is influenced by the length of the service, the academic degree, the permanence in an administrative position in the court and the work that provides access to state secrets.
In addition, a KSU judge is entitled to compensation in the event of resignation.
Overall, funding the Constitutional Court for 10 months cost 211 million hryvnia. And for the whole year, the budget provides for UAH 3124 million, while in 2019 – UAH 254 million.
Note that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy sees the voluntary resignation of the judges as a way out of the situation with the KSU.
Let us remember that at the end of October, Zelensky presented to the Verkhovna Rada a bill on the restoration of public confidence in constitutional processes, described as “urgent”. The head of state asks to recognize the decision of the Constitutional Court of October 27 “null and void” and adopted in the context of a real conflict of interest.
