Zelensky asked Ukrainians to sympathize with the new restrictions
The weekend quarantine in the country will last for several weeks and will prevent an avalanche-like increase in the incidence of coronavirus, the president said.
Tight quarantine restrictions on weekends will help avoid the worst-case scenario in Ukraine. This was announced on Monday, November 9 by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the RBC-Ukraine news agency reported.
He stressed that this measure will prevent a large increase in the number of COVID-19 cases and will allow time to prepare beds in hospitals.
“Increasing the number of beds, the use of masks and a temporary quarantine of the day off will have a good effect. Our scenario of an epidemiological situation in the cold season will not be the worst,” said the president.
According to him, the weekend quarantine in the country will last several weeks.
Earlier, the media reported that the Cabinet is preparing to tighten the quarantine. The Ukrainian authorities are preparing quarantine changes, according to which they plan to introduce quarantine on weekends, hours to care for the elderly Ukrainians and other restrictions.
Recall that the head of the Ministry of Health, Maxim Stepanov, explained the essence of the weekend quarantine. According to him, this will help contain the coronavirus epidemic and at the same time take into account the interests of small and medium-sized businesses.
