The Health Ministry says the coronavirus situation is tense. In that sense, they decided to strengthen the quarantine.
This was stated in a briefing by the Minister of Health, Maxim Stepanov.
According to him, in addition to the coronavirus, Ukraine has a bad economic situation.
“We understand that a total lockdown will be very, very difficult for small and medium-sized businesses. We will offer a hard ‘weekend’ quarantine,” he said.
The Ministry of Health is initiating that only grocery pharmacies, public transport, gas stations, veterinary pharmacies work on Saturdays and Sundays. Restaurants and cafes to work exclusively to take away. The rest of stores and shopping centers will recommend not to open on weekends.
It should be noted that the Ministry of Health of Ukraine believes that, from an economic point of view, it will be quite difficult to survive a hard blockade.
Remember that 8687 new cases of coronavirus were detected in Ukraine during the last day. Most of the infections are found in the Kiev, Kharkov and Zaporozhye regions.
