The third world war may start due to the coronavirus crisis, said in Britain

The coronavirus crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic could lead to a new world war. This will happen if smaller conflicts get out of hand.

This was stated by the chief of the British Defense Staff Nick Carter, reports Sky News.

According to him, the economic crisis due to the pandemic has already caused regional conflicts. They reflect too accurately those that led to the two previous world wars.

“I think the real risk, given the many regional conflicts that are going on right now, is that the escalation will intensify. I think this is something we need to be careful about,” Carter warned.

Without specifying which regional conflicts concern him most, he said that if left unchecked, they could easily “escalate”.

“This means that perhaps more people will be involved, more weapons will be deployed, and before it can contain them, it will lead the parties into a full-scale war,” the official said.

Additionally, Carter noted that 90,000 soldiers and 30,000 robots could remain in the British Army by 2030.

We will recall, earlier, that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) said that the pandemic has not yet significantly affected the global financial system. However, a prolonged recession or political mistakes can create greater vulnerability around the world.

A year ago, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, at the UN General Assembly in New York said that he considers the possibility of a third world war to be a threat to the entire planet.
