Ukraine to pass amnesty law after Donbass elections
According to Leonid Kravchuk, the amnesty law for the participants in the Donbass war will take into account the particularities of the region and world experience in these matters.
The amnesty law for participants in the Donbass war will be adopted by the Verkhovna Rada after the elections and the formation of local authorities in the uncontrolled territories. This was stated by the head of the Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group, Leonid Kravchuk, in an interview with TASS.
“When the local government is created after the elections in the uncontrolled territory, the Ukrainian parliament will also pass an amnesty law. Amnesty before the elections is not realistic,” said Leonid Kravchuk.
Kravchuk admits that special commissions will be created with the participation of local Donbass authorities to determine who qualifies for amnesty.
“Of course, war criminals and those with blood on their hands, who they killed, cannot be amnestied,” Kravchuk said.
He specified that each person will be considered separately, their guilt must be proven by law through a court. The law will take into account the particularities of the region and world experience in these matters.
Earlier, Leonid Kravchuk said that it is necessary to review the sequence of implementation of the elements of the Minsk agreements adopted in 2015.
It was also reported that today a “regime of silence” is being observed in the area of the Joint Forces operation.
