Fines for lack of masks in public places – Rada approved the law

The Verkhovna Rada adopted as a basis and as a whole the bill on fines for the lack of masks in public places. 262 popular deputies voted for the corresponding bill # 3891.

The law states that they will be fined for staying in public buildings, structures, public transportation during quarantine without wearing personal protective equipment, including respirators or protective masks that cover the nose and mouth, including those made by ourselves. The size of the fine will be from ten to fifteen minimum non-taxable income of citizens (170-255 hryvnia).

Note that at the end of October, Health Minister Maxim Stepanov appealed to the people’s deputies with a request to support the Cabinet of Ministers bill on increasing responsibility for the absence of a mask. The corresponding bill was presented in July.

As RBC-Ukraine wrote, the country wants to fine business owners for the lack of masks on visitors: MPs supported the corresponding bill №3890 as a basis. 251 People’s Deputies voted in favor of the document.

The document stipulates that fines for legal entities will range from 200 to 300 minimum non-taxable income of citizens (UAH 3400 – UAH 5100).
