An audit by the State Reserve Agency confirmed the looting of thousands of tons of reserves, the catastrophic technical condition of the companies and a multi-million dollar financial fraud. This was announced on Thursday, November 5, by the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture.

“Half-empty warehouses, the disappearance of thousands of tons of inventory in an unknown direction, expired food products worth hundreds of millions of hryvnias, the catastrophic technical condition of companies, economic disorder and multi-million dollar financial fraud – this is one list of only some main points of the conclusion of the State Audit Service, which audited the State Reserve, “in the message.

It is noted that, for the first time in recent years, a large-scale audit was carried out in which all the competent authorities participated at the initiative of the Ministry of Economy and on behalf of the Cabinet of Ministers.

“What is happening in the State Reserve is unacceptable. In the spring, when I first came to the ministry and began to learn the scandalous facts of the activities of the State Reserve, we started an audit … The situation with the State Reserve, which we see now, it must change radically “, emphasized the minister. economy Igor Petrashko.

Then, according to the results of the controls on the availability of grain reserves, the facts of the deterioration of the grain and the impossibility of its further use even for feed were revealed, in the amount of 35.5 million hryvnias.

The reason for this in the ministry is called irresponsible and inappropriate storage without observing any regulations. For example, the shelf life of cereal products is two years, while “the mass of cereals in state enterprises are products of 2010-2011”.

The grain shortage in just one of the State Reserve enterprises reached 27.9 million hryvnia. The ministry noted that this is the cost of the grain in prices at the time of placement. That is, today the amount of losses may be higher.

In addition, according to the results of the food storage inspection, it was revealed that companies store food products, the shelf life of which has long expired.

“There are more than 100 million UAH of such expired goods that can only be disposed of. Businesses have also expired non-food items worth 200 million UAH,” the ministry said.

The press service also reports that in the financial and economic activities of the State Reserve companies, the amount of violations amounted to 31.4 million UAH. The audit also revealed violations of the law in the implementation of public procurement without the conclusion of contracts.

Currently, the audit materials have been transferred to the NABU, SBU and the National Police.

As a reminder, at the beginning of the year, the State Reserve removed the directors of five factories specializing in the storage of oil and derivatives. And in May, the Cabinet removed the head of the State Reserve.
