Message from Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki
The Polish authorities have decided to close non-food stores in shopping malls, theaters and cinemas. All students will switch to distance learning.
In Poland, due to the increase in cases of coronavirus infection, a number of new quarantine restrictions are being introduced. They will go into effect on November 7 and will be in effect until at least November 29. This was announced by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, reports TVN24.
“All cultural institutions – theaters, cinemas, galleries – will be temporarily closed,” he said.
“We want to restrict the mobility of the movement. Restricting contacts is the only effective way,” Moravetsky added.
There will also be restrictions on the stay of people in churches and shops. Hotel rooms will only be available to guests traveling on business.
“Only grocery stores, pharmacies and service points will operate in shopping malls,” said the head of the Polish government.
Beginning Monday, November 9, students in all grade levels will switch to distance learning. Previously, students in grades 4-8 and high schools studied remotely.
The prime minister also said that if the number of infected exceeds 70-75 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, a national quarantine and a travel ban will be introduced in Poland.
It was previously reported that Poland has new records for COVID-19. The country registered 24,692 new cases of coronavirus, 373 people died; both figures are records for the country.
