Ukraine to introduce blockade if coronavirus situation worsens

Ukraine’s Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said the government was not yet introducing a blockade. However, the worsening situation with the coronavirus will force the authorities to resort to more severe restrictions.

He said this at a government meeting.

According to him, the countries of the world are introducing a total blockade, but Ukraine will not do so yet.

“We are not going to follow this path now, to introduce a nationwide blockade, but if we see a further deterioration of the situation, it will in fact force the government to resort to tougher restrictions,” he said.

Remember that the Kiev State Consumer Service told RBC-Ukraine how the quarantine in the country can be increased. The possibility of introducing a “black” zone is now being discussed.

Please note that while the semaphore principle of dividing the country into quarantine zones is in effect in the country.

In addition, a “weekend” quarantine can be introduced in Ukraine. The Ministry of Health admits this possibility.

During the last day, 9,524 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Ukraine.
