The current mayor won in Kharkiv by a wide margin from the closest opponent.

His closest opponent, former Verkhovna Rada MP and owner of Kharkov’s wholesale market Barbashovo, Alexander Feldman, has 14.32%.

The mayor of Kharkiv, Gennady Kernes, won the majority of votes in the last local elections and won them in the first round. This was reported by Public Television with reference to the results of the calculation of 100% of the protocols received from the precinct commissions in the electoral commission.

According to him, a total of 323,218 residents voted in Kharkiv’s mayoral elections, of which 60.34% supported Kernes.

His closest opponent, former Verkhovna Rada MP and owner of Kharkov’s wholesale market Barbashovo, Alexander Feldman, has 14.32%.

6,180 ballots were declared invalid. The official election results will be released on Wednesday, November 4.

As reported, according to the exit poll conducted by Ukraine 24 television channel on local election day, incumbent mayor Gennady Kernes led the way with 57.9% of the vote.
