Ukraine needs financial help from international partners due to the crisis, but due to the actions of the Constitutional Court, they refuse to cooperate, said Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Due to the latest decisions of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine on the abolition of criminal liability for inaccurate statements, the mission of the International Monetary Fund refuses to cooperate with Ukraine. This was announced today by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the air of the Freedom of Speech on ICTV program on the ICTV channel.
“We have received many signals from our western partners at the same time. There can be no mission from the International Monetary Fund. It cannot wait, and I do not want to hide from our society what it is about,” the president emphasized.
He explained that there is now a “hole” in Ukraine’s budget due to the global crisis, the crisis in the Ukrainian economy and also because of the coronavirus pandemic. Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine needs the help of international partners.
“We receive the same signal as from the IMF from the World Bank, from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, from all the G7 ambassadors who are in Ukraine,” Zelensky added.
The IMF considers the introduction of an electronic declaration in Ukraine for officials to be an important element of bilateral cooperation and calls for strengthening the effectiveness of all anti-corruption agencies in the state. This is how the Fund reacted on October 31 to the cancellation of On October 27, the Constitutional Court of Ukraine anti-corruption provisions and the decision that the establishment of criminal responsibility for the declaration of deliberately inaccurate data, as well as the willful failure to present a declaration, is an excessive sanction for committing such crimes.
