In the Chernihiv region, the prosecutor was arrested for an accident with two victims.

A law enforcement officer driving an Acura car headed into the opposite lane, where he collided with a VAZ car.

Law enforcement officers are investigating the circumstances of the fatal accident with the participation of the head of one of the local prosecutor’s offices in the Chernihiv region, near the town of Berezna. This is reported by the RRG on Monday, November 2.

“Today at approximately 9:20 a.m., a law enforcement officer, who was behind the wheel of an Acura car, drove into the opposite lane, where he collided with a VAZ car. The driver and passenger of the VAZ were killed by their injuries at the scene of the accident, “the message reads.

The prosecutor was arrested. At the moment, the issue of informing you of a suspected violation of road safety regulations that resulted in the death of several people is being resolved (part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

A petition is also being prepared to select the detainee as a preventive measure in the form of detention.

In case of proof of guilt, the detainee faces a prison sentence of 5 to 10 years with deprivation of the right to drive for a period of up to 3 years.

Earlier it was reported that the court sentenced the driver who killed a family of four in an accident near Kiev to 10 years. The defendant fully admitted his guilt.
