On November 3, 2020, the National Bank of Ukraine set the official exchange rate at around 28.58 hryvnia to the dollar. This is 13 kopecks more compared to the previous banking day.

This is evidenced by the data on the regulator’s website.

The official exchange rate of the hryvnia per dollar on November 3 was set at the following level: 28.5827 hryvnia per dollar (+0.0132 hryvnia). At the same time, the exchange rate on November 2 was 28.4507 hryvnia per dollar.

The dollar exchange rate has rolled over a two-year high again.

Note that since the beginning of this week, the dollar has been trading at the highest levels for the past two years. In particular, the official exchange rate last passed the mark of 28.49 hryvnia per dollar on September 5, 2018.

The closest record mark is 28.87 UAH per dollar. His official course broke through on January 23, 2018.

Interbank

Today, at the opening of the interbank foreign exchange market, the dollar exchange rate for sale was around 28.53 hryvnia, the euro exchange rate for sale was 33.19 hryvnia. At the same time, the rate of the US currency grew during the day. Less than an hour before closing, the dollar is selling for 28.62 hryvnia.

Taking into account the operations, the National Bank set the reference rate for November 2 at the level of 28.55 UAH / dollar.

Forecast

Alpari senior analyst Vadim Iosub said in a comment to RBC-Ukraine that one of the main factors behind the weakening of the hryvnia in the fall was the activation of foreign exchange demand from importers. At the same time, in the cash market, the population sells more currency than it buys.

According to him, the dollar on the interbank market until the end of this week can be traded close to the 28.6 UAH mark, and the dollar in cash in banks – about 28.5 / 28.7 UAH.
