More than 17 thousand beds in the country are connected to oxygen

More than 17 thousand beds in Ukraine already have oxygen and this number is constantly growing, however, there are difficulties with oxygen containers.

Ukraine has a problem with oxygen tanks in “coronavirus” hospitals. At the moment, only 17 thousand hospital beds have oxygen, while in mid-November the figure should reach 25 thousand. This was announced at a briefing on Monday November 2 by Health Minister Maxim Stepanov.

He noted that there is no problem with medical oxygen for hospital beds. However, there is a problem with the tanks, which creates the problem of providing oxygen to hospitals.

According to him, there are now 16 producers of medical oxygen in Ukraine. Furthermore, the time frame for licensing companies has been reduced to a minimum.

“The Ministry of Economy was instructed to maximize this work, as regards the supply of containers to medical institutions,” said Stepanov.

He added that now in Ukraine the number of beds with oxygen is 17,855 beds. By mid-November, it is planned to increase the number of beds of this type to 25-26 thousand.

We will remember, during the last day in Ukraine 6,754 new cases of COVID-19 were revealed.

A few days earlier it was reported that more than 67% of hospital beds are occupied in Ukraine.
