A boxer from Simferopol (Ukraine), as expected in class, outperformed an experienced counterpart from London (England). The fight happened all the allotted time – 12 rounds
Former undisputed world heavyweight professional boxing champion Alexander Usik (18-0, 13 KOs) had his second fight in the heavyweight division, not without difficulty defeating the experienced Derek Chisora. The local fighter lost to a guest from Ukraine by unanimous decision and received the 10th loss of his career: 32-10, 23 KO.

The fight began, as expected, with the attacks of a well-beaten Briton, who, due to the mass and the heavy blow, unpretentiously tried to score the native of Simferopol already at the start. The first round was left for Chisora: Usyk tried to run backwards, but it was very dangerous.
In rounds 2-4, Alexander accelerated on his feet and launched himself towards the Brit, although he sometimes missed Chisora’s swings. Derek often struggled to hit below the belt.
In rounds 5-6, the huge Chisora was tired. The tendril fired up speed and worked on the Brit, who almost stopped attacking. A boxer from Ukraine started getting accentuated punches. Derek’s successes have become much less.

At the end of the 7th round, Chisoru was saved from finishing by the gong and the lack of a strong blow from the favorite: the Briton swam hard.
In the eighth, Chisora was already walking on a mobile Usyk, receiving blows to the head. It looked like the matter was coming to an end, but in the 9-10 rounds, Alexander paused and allowed his opponent to “get up” a bit. On the 11th, Chisora tried to pull Usyk towards himself, but it didn’t work out very well. I kept going and became more efficient. And Usyk took the final round in boxing.
Three judges unanimously identified Usik as the winners: 117-112 and twice 115-113, but it was very difficult for him as a born heavyweight.

Now Alexander will be awaiting the outcome of the December fight between WBA / WBO / IBF champion Anthony Joshua and Kubrat Pulev. Usyk is a must-see contender for Joshua on the WBO line and he has no intention of letting WBC champion Tyson Fury pass (he will have a completely acceptable fight in December as well).
Fury, along with Joshua, want to determine the absolute heavyweight champion (over 200 pounds) in the spring – the titles of the four main organizations will be at stake in this mega fight: IBF, WBC, WBO and WBA. Usyk will be the first to fight Joshua.
- On October 17, 2020, López defeated Lomachenko by unanimous decision, which caused a sensation in the boxing world, because before the match Vasily was the favorite 4 to 1. Almost two-thirds of the fight Lomachenko was inert and hit only 321 hits in 12 rounds, Lopez – 659.
- After the fight, Lomachenko underwent his second shoulder surgery in a couple of years.
