Austria returns to a harsh quarantine

For almost a month, a curfew is being introduced in the country, and the restoration is allowed to operate only to go.

Austria has returned to strict quarantine since Tuesday, November 3 due to the coronavirus pandemic. About that set Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz on Twitter on Saturday, October 31.

The country will introduce a curfew that will operate until November 30. At the same time, Austrians will be prohibited from leaving their home from 20:00 to 6:00 to meet or visit other people. At the same time, you will be allowed to go to work, walk or help other people.

Local media write that the country will also be banned from visiting restaurants and cafes. Caterers will only serve takeout food or drinks. Hotels can only accept commercial clients. Zoos, theaters and museums will also be closed.

At the same time, schools in Austria will continue to function, but the Austrian authorities will check whether they are affecting the spread of the coronavirus.

Such measures are necessary to avoid overloading the healthcare system, Kurz said.

“We are aware that these measures are unpopular and mean massive restrictions on freedom. But they are necessary to facilitate our treatment,” he added.

Remember that previously in Slovakia nationwide testing for COVID-19 began. All Slovaks undergo antigen tests, the results of which are ready in 15-30 minutes. Those who refuse to take the test must isolate themselves and, for violating the quarantine, face a fine.

It was also reported that Portugal has banned travel throughout the country. To reduce the risk of transmission of the virus during the national holiday of All Saints, the Portuguese authorities have decided to tighten quarantine requirements.
