The reason for the closure of the border is the fight against the coronavirus epidemic. However, the prohibition will not apply to a number of exceptions.

Since November 1, Belarus prohibits entry to foreigners and stateless people to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. This was reported by the State Border Committee on Saturday, October 31.

At the same time, the ban does not apply to reaching Belarus by air through the Minsk National Airport.

Furthermore, the prohibition will not apply to the following categories:

  • foreigners with diplomatic or service passports;

  • heads or members of official delegations;

  • foreigners providing international assistance to Belarus;

  • drivers of vehicles that carry out international transport or transport of international postal shipments, as well as ship crews, train crews and locomotives;

  • foreigners who are spouses, parents or children of Belarusian citizens;

  • foreigners who have a work permit and documents that confirm it;

  • Russians traveling in transit through Belarus to Russia;

  • foreigners who are sent to visit a seriously ill person or to the funeral of a relative;

  • foreigners transporting stem cells or organs for transplantation;

  • foreigners traveling in transit to the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone

At the same time, citizens of Belarus, foreigners who are the spouses, parents or children of Belarusians, as well as foreigners entitled to permanent residence in Belarus, must go through mandatory self-isolation within 10 calendar days after crossing the border. border.

Let us remind you that earlier Lukashenka ordered the closure of the Belarusian state border. Alexander Lukashenko says that the border is a “zone of friendship between peoples” and adds that “closing the border is not turning it into an iron curtain.”
