Protest march in Minsk
On Saturday, women and people with disabilities participated in protests in the Belarusian capital.
On Saturday October 31, Minsk hosts two protest marches. One of them is the march of women, the second is the march of people with disabilities, reports TASS.
It is noted that about a hundred women gathered in the Belarusian cinema and moved to the center of the capital.
First, the participants of the march passed in front of the pre-trial detention center on Volodarskogo Street, where those detained for taking part in protest actions are being held. As they passed through the isolation room, the women chanted “Let go of me!” With the same demand, the protesters addressed the authorities, passing by the KGB building, in whose remand center there are also prominent politicians in Belarus, recognized by the human rights community as political prisoners.
The march was joined by protesters from among the disabled, who started their demonstration from the Red Church in central Minsk. The forces of order have not yet intervened in what is happening, warning the protesters about its illegal nature.
Let us remind you that on the eve of Alexander Lukashenko addressed the protesters, saying that resistance to the security forces would become the basis for harsh reprisals on his part. “If someone touches a military man, he must at least leave without hands,” Lukashenka said.
It was also reported that Lukashenka is creating popular squads out of former military personnel.
