The top three popularity leaders for smartphone brands were devices from Samsung, Huawei and Xiaomi.
Apple took fourth place in the ranking, which was compiled by international consultancy IDC for the third quarter of 2020, reports Gizmochina.
In first place was the Korean company Samsung, which has sold 80.4 million smartphones in the last three months and has gained a significant market share of 22.7%. The Chinese corporation Huawei sold 51.9 million smartphones (14.7% of the market).
Xiaomi sold 46.5 million smartphones, which represents 13.1% of global sales. It is observed that the Chinese brand increased this figure by 42% during the year.
Apple has sold 41.6 million iPhones of various models. The fifth place after Apple was occupied by Vivo with 31.5 million units sold.
Other smartphone makers accounted for a total of 101.7 million devices, which were sold in three months. A total of 353.6 million smartphones were sold.
