A large-scale protest is taking place in Warsaw against the de facto ban on abortion. There have been cases of clashes with opponents of abortion.

Reported by TVP.

At 4:00 p.m. local time, the protesters gathered in the central streets of the capital. Tens of thousands of protesters marched through the center of Warsaw. In particular, they visited the Prime Minister’s office.

Protesters hold signs demanding permission for abortion rights and the resignation of the government. One of the main slogans of today’s action is “Legalization of abortion, without commitments”.

In some situations, the participants of the actions had clashes. People were detained by law enforcement agencies. Representatives of organizations that oppose abortion rights have also created skirmishes. They threw smoke bombs at the crowd of protesters and attacked the protesters.

Simultaneously with the rally in Warsaw, protests were held in many cities in Poland, as well as in embassies in European countries.

We will recall, on October 22, that the Constitutional Court of Poland established a legal basis, which amounts to an almost complete ban on termination of pregnancy in the country. Since then, there have been massive protests in Warsaw over such a court decision.
